24. February, 2009
Millions of viewers will tonight be able to enjoy world class
football via GigaContent's network: A Champions League match
between FC Copenhagen and Manchester United will be sent directly
from Parken in Copenhagen at 19.30 hours via GigaContent's
GigaBroadcast solution.
TV signals and audio in HD and SD will from the Parken stadium in
Copenhagen be transmitted to Viasat's main facility in Jenagade
south of Copenhagen, and will then be relayed to Danish and foreign
viewers via Viasat's network. Parken is one of the more than thirty
points-of-events - ie. focal points of attractive video
content - that so far have been hooked up to GigaContent's
nationwide video content network.
- With GigaBroadcast we can deliver the perfect solution for
broadcasters who emphasize both quality and reliability. For world
class football games of huge importance to millions of viewers one
should be totally certain that the systems are in reliable order,
and that's always the case when using a solution from GigaContent,
says sales and marketing director for GigaContent, Jan de
Blanck.
GigaContents solutions have previously been employed to transmit
UEFA Cup matches from Parken in Copenhagen, and are currently being
used to send live from the Danish premier league matches of the SAS
Liga every weekend.
