From Copenhagen to Afghanistan: GigaContent to broadcasts Flag
Day
1. September 2011
GigaContent will again be breaking new ground in
state-of-the-art international broadcast solutions when the Danish
National Flag Day event broadcasts live on September 5. This event
will for the first time be broadcast not only to viewers in Denmark
but also to the Danish troops in Afghanistan via GigaXchange and GigaWebTV.
GigaContent's end-to-end solution for international broadcast
and web-streaming is as follows: From Kastellet and Christiansborg
in Copenhagen the live coverage will be broadcast via satellite to
GigaContent's hub in Taastrup, west of Copenhagen City. From the
hub the broadcast will be sent to both national tv-channels TV2 and
DR, and will simultaneously be streamed to Afghanistan via web-tv
and GigaContent's international broadcast service,
GigaXchange. The Danish Defence Departments Media Service will
be using GigaContents web-tv streaming service, GigaWebTV.
- We are happy to be able to contribute to create bonds and
honour all the people, who are deployed on our country's behalf and
not least their loved ones. With effective and innovative
tv-coverage, we are shortening the distance to Afghanistan, at
least for a while. And that's important, says Jan de Blanck, VP
Sales & Marketing for GigaContent.
GigaContent is to deliver the solution together with BestFlowFactory who is in
charge of the production together with Forsvarets
Mediecenter - the Danish Defence Department's media
service.
