GigaContent broadcasts World Cup handball from Sweden
6. januar 2011
For the first time in GigaContent history GigaContent will
deliver live content from a foreign event! This will happen when
the mens handball World Cup gets underway in Sweden on January 13.,
2011.
TV2 Denmark and Danish Radio (DR) will broadcast live from -
among others - the Danish team's matches via GigaContent's new and
first foreign point-of-event at the Malmo Arena. The Malmo
Arena has recently been added to GigaContent's long list of
points-of-events at significant sports arenas and stadiums all over
Denmark - and now also in southern Sweden. The connection to Sweden
is established through GigaContents super fast network of optical
fibre, which extends into Sweden across the Oeresund bridge
connecting the two countries. The Danish team's first match in
Malmo - which is against Austria - will be shown on January 14 at
20.15 hours on the TV2 Denmark broadcasting network.
- Our new connection to Sweden shows, that GigaContent's media
network and our services is an asset not only for Denmark, but for
the entire region. It is a historical event for us to embark on our
first foregn transmission. And we are of course especially happy
that we in this connection have a strong working relationship with
both Danish Radio and TV2 Denmark, says Jan de Blanck, VP Sales for
GigaContent.
