Municipal elections 2009: GigaContent transmits from city halls
across the country
20. November, 2009
When the Danes go to the polls the news coverage should be fast,
on schedule and - not least - should be sent live from main
election hotspots for the benefit of a national TV audience. This
is precisely why major broadcasters chose GigaContent as a main
technical supplier for the reliable and effective coverage of this
week's municipal election.
- We are truly excited to assist in delivering solutions that make
a difference. This week's comprehensive election coverage shows
that we are ready to roll out our solutions in virtually all
cities, at short notice, and whenever there's a need for it, says
Jan de Blanck, VP of sales and marketing at GigaContent.
GigaContent has during the week enabled the faultless, live
transmission of video content from eight of Denmark's most
important city halls. Among others the city halls in the country's
four largest cities - Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg - have
on short notice been equipped with a fast connection to
GigaContent's nationwide content network. An additional four city
halls in the outer municipal regions were also connected.
The TV channels of DR, TV2 and TV2 Øst have all used GigaContent's
solutions for their live coverage. A connection to GigaContent's
network means that a production team in the field is able to send
content in HD or SD format on to production facilities or directly
to broadcast without the use of SNG vehicles. And the quality
extremely reliable.
